The last couple months before the release of a new Skylanders game tends to be the slowest in terms of new product. This summer saw the release of the Gamestop exclusive figure Polar Whirlwind about a month ago and the beginning of the Frito Lay promotion for the Sidekicks characters, but all has been quiet otherwise.

Gnarly Tree Rex is the same sculpt as regular Tree Rex only he has been painted with some blue metallic highlights in specific areas of his body that were previously red and green. This is how he will appear in the Skylanders Giants game as well when placed on the Portal of Power.
