Gamestop is getting into the exclusive Skylanders: Giants game with the Golden Dragonfire Cannon Battle Pack that will be released day-and-date with the full game on October 21, 2012 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, 3DS and PC. A Wii U version will be available at a later date.
This limited edition battle pack includes a Series 2 version of Chop Chop, the new Skylander Shroomboom, and the exclusive Golden Dragonfire Cannon accessory. This cannon, when placed on the Portal of Power, unlocks an exclusive in-game battle arena.
Anyone looking to purchase all the new and Series 2 Skylanders Giants figures will want to keep this in mind to avoid duplicates. Use this set to pick up these two guys and pass on the inevitable single-carded releases of each.
The wording of Gamestop’s press release makes it sound like this set will only ever be available at Gamestop. Once it’s gone, it’s gone, and won’t be released at mass retail. This would make sense given there are no exclusive characters available in the set.
