Second Prometheus Still Surfaces

What Bloody Disgusting claims is a second image from Ridley Scott’s Prometheus has surfaced, offering up an odd landscape that a helicopter and small ground team appear to be pouring over. The following should be considered a possible spoiler so proceed at your own risk.

Common speculation around the Internet is that this still is from the film’s opening act and possibly set in the past. The team in the image could be responding to a discovery that will ultimately change the way humanity views its origins.

This image is a stark contrast to the first that Fox released a couple days ago timed with their Prometheus Comic-Con presentation. I’ve included that image below as well.

Prometheus was originally penned by Jon Spaihts as a direct prequel of Alien, but then was reworked by Damon Lindelof into an all-new story that retains only elements of Spaihts’ idea. The film stars Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Ben Foster and Guy Pearce.

Look for Prometheus in 3D to arrive in theaters on June 8, 2012.
