April 29, 2008. Mark your calendar, folks, as that is now the official release date for Grand Theft Auto IV simultaneously on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
Rockstar has officially announced the first next-gen version of the series will be released simultaneously on April 29, ending months of speculation on whether further delays would push the much anticipated title deep into 2008.
“We are so excited to be releasing Grand Theft Auto IV,” said Sam Houser, Founder and Executive Producer of Rockstar Games. “We’ve pushed ourselves very hard to make something incredible and hope the game sets a new benchmark for interactive entertainment.”
The announcement comes on the heels of Rockstar allowing several gaming-specific outlets to preview a hands-off demonstration of the game. You can read about some of those previews here, and get a look at 10 fresh new screenshots.
