The Weinstein Company’s Dimension Films arm was pleased enough with the results of Rob Zombie’s 2007 Halloween re-imagining that they’ve reenlisted the writer/director to continue the story.
Zombie will write and direct H2, the official name for the sequel, like he did for Halloween. H2 will begin at the exact moment Halloween ended exploring the aftermath of Michael Myers killing spree seen through the eyes of heroine Laurie Strode.
Rob Zombie has just wrapped up production on his first endeavor in animated films, The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, opening the door for H2’s script to be written and pre-production to begin.
Dimension and Weinstein have not offered a window for release as of yet. The earliest its expected in theaters would be 2010.
