Capcom’s Resident Evil Revelations was originally released on Nintendo 3DS so it should come as no surprise that the upcoming Wii U version shares some of the same dual-screen capabilities.
While both versions allow you to play on the main screen and use the secondary touch-screen for navigation, the Wii U version also features optional remote play via the Wii U GamePad. This gives players a choice; go dual-screen for a similar experience to 3DS, or go it alone on the GamePad without the map or other tools.
Miiverse will also play a role in Resident Evil Revelations on Wii U. You can write text for the various creatures to “speak” during the game, and that text will appear in other players’ games in speech bubbles. This adds a bit of levity to an otherwise serious game, but can also be used to pass along tips and hints.
