Prometheus Cast Doubles, Shooting Starts in 3 Weeks

Ridley Scott is lining up and placing the final pieces to his big sci-fi movie puzzle before production gets underway.

The cast of Prometheus has now doubled according to UK’s Daily Mail. Joining Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are Idris Elba, Sean Harris and Kate Dickie. These six actors appear to be the core cast of the film.

Scott told Daily Mail that shooting gets underway in 3 weeks at Pinewood Studios in the UK. He has taken extreme measures to ensure the script remains secretive by requiring the cast to sign non-disclosure agreements and visit Scott’s production offices to read it.

While Scott remains tight-lipped about the Prometheus story, he did offer a small tease. “It’s the story of creation, the gods and the man who stood against them,” Scott shared. “It is not a small film.”

Scott maintains that Prometheus is not a prequel to Alien but rumors suggest it will be set within the Alien universe. Sources told Bleeding Cool that the Zenomorphs from Alien will appear in the film but might not be immediately recognizable as they’ve yet to gestate and burst from a human to take on those biological characteristics. The sources also suggest the film will be set on a terraformed planet that offers the optimum atmosphere for a new bio-weapon.
