Olivia Wilde, Beau Garrett Cast in Tron 2.0

When Olivia Wilde isn’t engaged in a battle of wits with House on Fox, she’ll be a player in one of the most anticipated upcoming sequels for the new year.

Olivia, along with Beau Garrett, are the first “players” cast in Disney’s upcoming Tron 2.0 sequel to be directed by Joseph Kosinski.

Wilde is reported to play a worker who helps fight the MCP (Master Control Program), while Garrett will play a “siren” within the computer world.

Disney screened test footage created to visualize the special effects for Tron 2.0 at ComicCon last July which turned into one of the most talked-about screenings at the convention. The footage ended with Jeff Bridges reprising his role from the original, though the studio has yet to flat out state he’s on board.

Additional casting announcements, including the male lead, are expected to be made shortly. Disney is aiming to put Tron 2.0 in front of cameras this spring with an unknown release date.
