After releasing three and more recently two new Virtual Console games every Monday, Nintendo’s pool of titles to choose from has dwindled rapidly. Never fear… it’s WiiWare to the rescue!
For the first time we can recall, there is only one new Virtual Console game releasing today. But, there are two new WiiWare games, a sign of how Nintendo’s digital game distribution model for the foreseeable future.
The Virtual Console is receiving SKYKID, an NES side-scrolling shooter that will set you back 500 Wii Points.
On WiiWare, you’ll be able to pick up Konami’s Critter Round-Up for 1000 Wii Points and Hudson’s Star Soldier R for 800 Wii Points. The former is a puzzle-action challenge game whose title speaks for itself. The latter is a new kind of shooter with a scant 2 or 5-minute time limit to rack up a ridiculous number of kills.
All three games are now available for purchase through the Wii Shop Channel.
