The new JJ Abrams Star Trek trailer arrived in theaters on Friday and pretty much has sci-fi fans, Star Trek or otherwise, giddy with anticipation.
The trailer makes clear Abrams is modernizing the Trek universe both in terms of visuals and behavior. You wouldn’t see Uhura whipping off her shirt in any previous Star Trek film, that’s for sure.
Despite all the cool effects and jolts of nostalgia, the coolest moment has to be Simon Pegg barking out a line as Scotty. I think he nailed it, but you can judge for yourself below.
We hope to have the official Paramount trailer to share in the very future. Until then, this one should hold you over.
