The aliens reveal at least part of their intentions on earth in the first full-length trailer for John Favreau’s Cowboys & Aliens. So far this film continues to look as advertised: a modern take on the western genre with the added benefit of aliens dropped into it.
The new trailer, which first debuted during ‘American Idol’ but then thankfully appeared online at Apple a short time later, begins much like the previous trailer and Super Bowl spot did. Daniel Crag awakens in the desert with no recollection of who he is, where he is, or why there’s a strange metallic gauntlet fastened onto his wrist. After so more character setups, all hell breaks loose around the midway point as the aliens snatch up humans and contain them in a zombie-like state for some unknown purpose.
Universal and Favreau have been cautious about revealing the aliens that the cowboys including Craig, Harrison Ford, Sam Rockwell and Olivia Wilde will be gunning at. We do get a glimpse of an alien hand and its definitely not like anything you’d find on this world. Also glimpsed is the hyped Wilde nude scene which hopefully will have a point other than stroking fanboy curiosity.
