Dreamworks has released a pair of new stills from Need for Speed, the upcoming big screen adaptation of EA’s venerable racing video game franchise of the same name.
The first image features star Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) as blue-collar mechanic Tobey Marshall and a member of his team, Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi). To save his struggling garage, Marshall reluctantly teams up with ex-Nascar driver Dino Brewster and sets off on the cross-country De Leon race with a ticking clock. The mission starts fueled by revenge, but ultimately turns into an act of redemption.
Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger as Brewster and Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey) as Anita enjoy a mean in the second image. Johnson being cast as the female lead in Fifty Shades of Grey may end up serving Need for Speed a nitrous box office boost as fans of that franchise will want to see her latest work prior to the big event.
Need for Speed floors it into theaters on March 14, 2014.
