After announcing a few weeks back that the upcoming Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the Nintendo Wii U would be region locked, Capcom today has announced that a post-release update will allow North American hunters to hunt with European hunters online.
The announcement comes after receiving harsh community feedback from the millions of hunters worldwide unhappy with the publisher’s initial decision. The update, due in April, will allow cross-region functionality, and will also permit remote play via the Wii U GamePad.
Capcom also revealed that they will support Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for several months after launch with free (yes, FREE!) DLC quests. The first quest will be available at launch (March 19 in North America, March 22 in Europe) with additional quests to follow. These additional downloadable quests will be for both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS systems.
