E3 may be winding down but that didn’t stop Mojang from creating a new Minecraft trailer specifically for the upcoming PlayStation 4 version of the game.
Along with the new Minecraft PS4 trailer comes more definitive information regarding how much bigger the game is versus the PlayStation 3 versions. According to Owen at Mojang, the PS4 version of Minecraft supports worlds that are up to 36 times bigger than the PS3 version. Since PS3 worlds can be imported into PS4, there will be ample extra space to expand the previously maxed out worlds on the new-gen console.
Mojang and their friends at 4J have also taken advantage of the PS4s DualShock 4 controller to allow menu and craft navigation via the touchpad. Other features include eight-player online play and up to four-player split-screen play on a single console, and social sharing using PS4s built-in share feature.
If you don’t own the Xbox 360 or PS3 version of Minecraft and can’t take advantage of the small upgrade fee to new-gen, your decision of which version to choose might be made easier knowing that Sony will be getting some exclusive DLC content for the PS4 version in the future.
Minecraft PlayStation 4 version and Xbox One version will be available to own starting in August.
