Valve’s Left 4 Dead has emerged as a sleeper multiplayer hit for Xbox 360 this winter. Many outlets, ourselves included, are having a hard time keeping it off the 2008 Game of the Year final contestants list.
Its popularity and relatively short time in stores is why we were a bit surprised to see such a drastic price reduction at Amazon.com today. Sure it is for a one-day deal only, but 33% off a new-release game, especially a popular one, is near unheard of.
Chalk it up to the hard economic times, Amazon having too much stock or whatever you want, but for the rest of today only or until supplies run out, you can pick up Left 4 Dead on Xbox 360 for only $39.99.

A few other new release console exclusives went on sale today as well including Animal Crossing City Folk for Wii and LittleBigPlanet for PS3 and they have already sold out. Left 4 Dead’s remaining minutes in stock may be numbered fewer than the minutes left in the day.
