Latest X-Men: Days of Future Past Image Needs Maintenance

Latest X-Men: Days of Future Past Image Needs MaintenanceDirector Bryan Singer had been regularly sharing sneak peeks from inside the production of X-Men: Days of Future Past until he went quiet for a little as the film entered post-production. Now he’s back, and the latest image snapped inside the editing bay paints an ominous future for Xavier’s mutant team.

The image features a sign for Xavier’s School not on a wall where it normally resides, but laying on the ground as if it had fallen off naturally due to age. Around the sign are signs of overgrown grass as if the grounds had been abandoned and left unkempt for at least a year if not more.

We already know X-Men: Days of Future Past will feature time travel and show us the 1970s in addition to the future. This sign could be an indication of a potential future where the Trask Industries Sentinels are able to destroy most of the mutants. Or, it could be right before the school is “repaired” and perhaps taken over by Wolverine to run, as it was in the comics. Kudos to Singer for sharing an image capable of sparking discussion and debate.
