Universal is making it clear that their take on Snow White starring Kristen Stewart brings the grit in a new three-pane character banner that hit the web late yesterday via Twitter. This is quite the opposite approach Relativity is taking with Tarsem Singh’s Mirror Mirror which looks to be the more cutesy film of the two competing Snow White projects.
On the far left of the banner is Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman and a gnarly creature that looks like it’s right out of a Guillermo del Toro film. Kristen Stewart as Snow White holding a dagger takes the center frame, while Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen looks devilishly bad in the right pane. Not pictured is Sam Claflin who plays the Prince with a bit of a crush on Snow White.
In the film, Snow White trains with the Huntsman, a man sent by the Evil Queen to kill Snow White. With the training, Snow White is able to prove that she is not only the fairest of them all, but also able to kick butt when needed.
Snow White and the Huntsman from commercials director Rupert Sanders opens in theaters on June 1, 2011. The first trailer is expected to arrive online tomorrow, or by the end of the week at the latest. Click the banner below to view a high resolution version.
