Judi Dench will soon be able to add Captain Jack Sparrow next to James Bond as iconic characters she has shared the screen with.
According to DailyMail, Dench has shot a cameo with Johnny Depp for an action scene that kicks off Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. In the scene, described as “a bit like Charlie Chaplin getting away from the Keystone Kops,” Sparrow is on the run when he ends up in a carriage carrying a noblewoman played by Dench. Their scene will be brief but long enough for Sparrow to woo and rob her before departing.
Director Rob Marshall worked with Dench on the musical Nine and likely called on her for the scene based on that experience. Dench can currently be heard voicing M in the new James Bond 007: Blood Stone video game from Activision.
