The marketing push for Activision and Bungie’s Destiny kicked off this week with an early look at a live-action trailer/TV spot featuring some Hollywood heavyweights.
Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Iron Man 2) directs the 60-second live-action Destiny trailer known as ‘Law of the Jungle.’ Joining Favreau is actor Giancarlo Esposito (Gus in Breaking Bad) who is reading a story to someone, likely his child, about battles on a distant planet.
Giancarlo explains that the power of the pack is in the wolf and the power of the wolf is in the pack. This becomes apparent as a lone wolf warrior takes down a group of enemies, only to turn and face a gargantuan foe that he will clearly need his companions to take on.
The on-air debut for the live-action Destiny trailer is this Saturday night during Game 3 of the 2013 NBA Playoffs Western Conference Finals between the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs.
Activision and Bungie have kept Destiny gameplay footage under wraps and that is expected to continue until at least E3. The game is 100 percent confirmed for release on Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3 and Playstation 4.
