Lionsgate today officially announced that Catching Fire, the second of four planned films in The Hunger Games series, now has a November 22, 2013 release date.
Right now no additional information about the film such as who might direct or when production will begin has been released. All we have is the release date which not ironically falls into the same month that Summit Entertainment will release The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 this year and next, respectively.
The news comes just as a pair of new images from The Hunger Games have hit the web featuring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss and a roughed up Josh Hutcherson as Peeta. Production on The Hunger Games continues in North Carolina with the finished film hitting theaters on March 23, 2012.
