Xbox 360 has been available for almost a year now and Playstation 3 is only a few short weeks away. And yet, there’s still no definitive word a “worthy” next-gen baseball game will ever be available on either console from perennial publishes 2K Sports and EA Sports.
2K Sports obviously is up to the challenge if these first screenshots from next Spring’s ‘MLB 2K7’ game are any indication. Newly crowned World Champion Albert Pujols has every face whisker and glove stich rendered to near perfection, and even the back of Jason Giambi’s head has been graced with insane details like an imperfect hair cut and sweat soaking through the bottom rim of his cap. Derek Jeter looks almost real enough to envy his naturally good looks.
The countdown to Spring Training 2007 is officially underway for both the teams and video game publishers. 2K Sports has opened the off-season with a strong hand of presumably Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 screenshots, so now lets see if EA is willing to counter with a first-look of their own.
