Activision today announced standalone wireless guitar controllers will be coming in early 2008 for all versions of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, including Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii.
Ironically, Rock Band’s standalone controllers are not due in stores until early 2008 as well. Since neither franchise’s have a concrete release date for standalone peripherals, we can only assume both Harmonix and RedOctane are rushing to be first to market.
We’ll have more information on Guitar Hero III’s and Rock Band’s standalone guitar controllers in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, if you haven’t picked up either of these games yet, head over to Amazon.com before they sell out from Cyber Monday shopping madness.
