New financial reports released by Rockstar and Take Two Interactive have revealed ‘Grand Theft Auto IV’ for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 has been pushed back from its originally scheduled October release date into the second quarter of fiscal 2008 (translation: between February and April). The delay is being blamed on “additional development time required to complete the title,” which comes as no surprise given the ambitious undertaking by the studio.
Additionally, Rockstar has stated ‘Manhunt 2,’ originally scheduled to ship on Nintendo Wii this fall, has slid out to an undetermined date beyond this year. Whether the title will ever escape the swirling controversy over its violence and make it to stores is anyone’s best guess.
