GDC: Wii Fit to Ship on May 19

To kick off the annual Game Developers Conference, Nintendo finally slapped a definitive release date on Wii Fit which first debuted last summer at E3.

Scheduled to ship to stores on May 19, Wii Fit will come packaged with a weight-and-motion-sensing Wii Balance Board and fitness software featuring Strength Training, Aerobics, Yoga and Balance Games. The package has already sold over 1.4 million units in Japan since launching on December 1.

In addition, Wii Fit will give users access to the all-new Wii Fit Channel, allowing them to track their daily body mass index and weight.

No price has been set for Wii Fit’s arrival stateside, but we’ll be sure to pass it along as soon as it’s available.
