Entertainment Tonight’s televised behind-the-scenes footage from the set of Marvel’s Thor included one split-second additional scene that debuts an Asgardian character for the first time.
In the blurry screen caps below is Sif, a warrior goddess played by Jaimie Alexander who grew up as friends with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston). Depending on how the live-action script was written, that sword she yields could very well be the trigger that opens the gateway between Asgard and Earth.
Thor is still in production under the direction of Kenneth Branagh and will arrive in theaters on May 6, 2011.
