I noticed an ad for Fracture, LucasArts new IP coming to stores later this year, while flipping through the instruction manual for The Force Unleashed. Spotting the ad is no big deal, but what the ad says is something to get excited for.
Per the ad, you will get to “Unleash Terrain Deformation” by downloading the Fracture demo from Xbox Live Marketplace, as if the demo is already available. With The Force Unleashed hitting stores in just over a week, this could possibly mean the Fracture demo will roll out later this week or shortly after The Force Unleashed arrives on September 16.
The ad only mentions the demo being available for Xbox 360 and shows the Xbox 360 cover art. If you recall,The Force Unleashed demo was available the same day on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. We’d like to think Fracture will pan out the same way but it is simple too early to tell until LucasArts makes an announcement.
Trust me when I say you’ll want to download this demo as soon as it is available. Terrain deformation is a unique new way to play and can really affect the outcome of a game, especially in multiplayer if both teams are using it to its fullest advantage.
