Fourth Terminator Film to Have Companion Videogame

After announcing purchasing the movie rights to the Terminator franchise from movie producers Andrew Vajna and Mario Kassar this past May, The Halcyon Co. has formed its own gaming subsidiary with the sole purpose of creating and publishing a video game version of the upcoming fourth Terminator film, Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, starring Christian Bale as John Connor. By creating a subsidiary, The Halcyon Co. will have full control over the game’s creation and ultimate release.

The game is expected to arrive in stores on or around the film’s release in the summer of 2009. he Halcyon Co. has confirmed the game has been in development for months and will appear on next-gen consoles, presumably Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii.

“We don’t want the game to be the stepchild to the film,” said Halcyon co-CEO Derek Anderson. “They’re of equal importance, and we want both to be of the same quality and be the same compelling experience.”

We’ll have more on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii game adaptation of Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins in the months ahead.
