Vin Diesel popped up on Facebook this evening to pass along an update on where Fast Five aka Fast & Furious 5 is in development.
Per Vin, he and director Justin Lin met today to discuss the film’s action set pieces as well as relationships, old and new. It is hard to tell how nailed down Chris Morgan’s script is from these remarks as the film’s details could still very much be in flux.
The rest of the Fast Five team is now on their way to Brazil to scout locations and cars. Vin had previously suggested Fast Five would be a global affair with legendary lawmen chasing he and Paul Walker. Now we know at least one of those stops is in South America. A car chase through Carnival, perhaps?
Fast Five is expected to begin shooting later this year and speed into theaters sometime in 2011.
