EA’s MONOPOLY Passes Go onto PS3, Xbox 360, Wii

The next time you pass go it may be a controller and not a shiny metal figurine now that Electronic Arts has shipped MONOPOLY to stores for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii and Playstation 2.

MONOPOLY for gaming consoles is based loosely on the recently released physical board game version MONOPOLY Here & Now: The World Edition.

In the game, up to four players can battle for real estate simultaneously in the popular classic mode or all-new modes and themes dreamed up by EA including jungle, snowy ice and delectable desserts.

Another new mode, “Richest Mode,” is designed for time crunched players who must amass as much cash in 30 minutes.

12 mini-games are included to complimen and enhance gampeplay such as “Get out of Jail” where you literally saw through jail bars, or “Take a Ride on the Reading” where you have to make on-time stops at train stations.

MONOPOLY for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii carry an MSRP of $39.99 while the Playstation 2 version comes in $10 cheaper at $29.99.
