E3 07: ‘Viva Piñata: Party Animals’ Coming to Xbox 360; First Screens & Box Art

Microsoft Game Studios had few new titles to announce at their E3 Press Conference last night, and those that were announced seemed to be a direct response to Nintendo’s recent surge in the platform wars with the Wii. In addition to ‘Scene It?,’ MGS will release ‘Viva Piñata: Party Animals’ this fall, exclusive (for now) to Xbox 360.

‘Viva Piñata: Party Animals’ is not a sequel to last fall’s sleeper hit. In fact, it’s being developed by a different company than Rare altogether: Krome Studios. As the name suggests, the game will feature piñatas taking part in between 40 and 50 different mini-games ala ‘Mario Party.’ The games, like break the piñata, will be playable either off or online versus friends.

‘Viva Piñata: Party Animals’ is expected in stores this holiday season. Check out the first screenshots from the game, or click through the game details link below for a peek at the high resolution cover art.
