Guess what the hottest selling Disney Infinity item is ahead of the Sunday release? It’s not the actual Disney Infinity game. And it’s not any of the figures or Play Sets either, not even the Toys R Us exclusive Lighting McQueen Infinity Crysal Series figure.
The hottest selling Disney Infinity pre-order item is by far and away the $4.99 blind-bagged Power Disc packs. They have been steadily marching up Amazon’s video games bestsellers list over the past few weeks and have reached the sixth position less than 24 hours away from release. The next closest Disney Infinity item is the Xbox 360 Starter Pack in the 22nd position.
For those of you not familiar with the Disney Infinity Power Discs, each pack comes with two of the twenty total discs available in wave 1. Three of the twenty are considered rare and are marked by an orange border color rather than clear. It’s unclear exactly how rare these are as no one has opened up full boxes of them yet to do a count.
There’s also a 21st Power Disc, Mike Wazowski’s car, that is exclusive to Toys R Us and sold in a gold package. This could be the rarest Power Disc of them all but it’s too early to tell. If Toys R Us Power Discs sell like the Amazon ones have, they could ultimately be the most profitable item for Disney Interactive for the entire Disney Infinity line.
