Marvel unveiled their secret Deadpool video game project at San Diego Comic-Con this past Saturday, a collaboration with publisher Activision and developer High Moon Studios. The game will be full of itself if this first trailer is any indication.
High Moon Studios are the crew behind Activision’s line of successful Transformers games, but with Deadpool, they’re headed in a more mature direction. This supe has a mouth as mad as his killing skills and isn’t afraid to use either. He’ll blow up bounce houses. He’ll comment on other bouncy things.
Does the fourth wall get in the way of your comical gaming experiences? No problem. Deadpool isn’t afraid to break it with a mouthful of snark at the ready.
Did I mention this trailer is very much not safe for work? As Deadpool closes the trailer, “Suck it, Wolverine.”
There’s no Deadpool release date yet but holiday 2013 is looking like a good bet. No platforms, either, but I’d expect Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the PC at minimum. If Nintendo Wii U wants to play the big boys in the mature arena then it will show up there, too.
