Warner Home Video continues to release the classics on Blu-ray Disc with news of Cool Hand Luke, starring Paul Newman, making its high definition debut on September 9 in a Deluxe Edition Blu-ray set. The release will be day-and-date with a companion DVD edition.
Cool Hand Luke on Blu-ray will be presented in a re-mastered 1080p transfer. Audio specs have yet to be released, though we’d put our money on Dolby Digital 5.1 given Warner’s trends with catalog films.
Supplemental feature are led by an all new featurette: A Natural-Born World-Shaker: Making Cool Hand Luke, an in-depth look at the creation of an uncompromising classic. Also included is a commentary by noted writer and Paul Newman biographer, Eric Lax, along with the theatrical trailer.
Cool Hand Luke (Deluxe Edition) on Blu-ray Disc will carry an SRP of $28.99. Check back regularly for high resolution cover art and a pre-order link.
