Colin McRae gets dirty on next-gen consoles

Codemasters today announced the Colin McRae franchise is headed to Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the PC.

“DIRT: Colin McRae Off-Road” will incorporate 850bhp cars racing in Hill Climb events, including all 12.4 miles and over 150 devious turns of Colorado’s Pikes Peak International. Other event racing opportunities include racing Dakar-style trucks and super-powered 4x4s in Rally Raid competitions, Rally Cross events that switch between on and off-road courses, and a dedicated mode for European, International and Global rally championships featuring official 2WD, 4WD, Classic and RWD rally cars.

Of course with next-gen console support comes an all-new physics system, new graphics and an interactive damage engine affected by every aspect of the tracks – from big hills to pieces of gravel. Expect deep online support as well.

“DIRT: Colin McRae Off-Road” will race home sometime in 2007.
