Bioshock 2 a Reality, Take-Two Postpones Borderlands

Bioshock 2 is now officially in the works. Not that anyone needed proof that Take-Two Interactive wouldn’t jump all over the opportunity to finally harvest a new successful property to take pressure off Grand Theft Auto.

According to Take-Two Interactive’s first quarter financial report, Bioshock 2’s tentative release time frame is sometime in fiscal 2009. Maybe Take-Two and 2K Games will make some sort of official teaser announcement now that the cat is out of the bag.

2009 will also see the release of Mafia II and another new property, Borderlands, on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Borderlands was initially scheduled for 2008 so chalk this news up as a delay.

Joining Borderlands in the “delay” category is Midnight Club: Los Angeles. The racer was supposed to be in stores by this summer, but now has been pushed back into later this year.

Earlier today, Take-Two formally announced the sequel to Carnival Games, Carnival Games: Mini-Golf, is headed to Nintendo Wii this fall.
