Best Unintentional Game Reveal Goes to Fable III

Peter Molyneux’s Fable franchise is a cornerstone of both Xbox consoles and is destined to continue forward with a new adventure. By the craziest of means we now suspect it will, even if Microsoft hasn’t made so much of a peep about it.

If true, this has to go down as the most unlikely reveals of an upcoming game ever and probably got someone or someones in a lot of trouble with Microsoft and Lionhead. It comes courtesy of recently wed Amy Gilbert and Joshua Atkins.

Who the heck are they? Amy and Joshua’s wedding was announced recently in the New York Times weddings and celebrations section. More specifically, Josh’s employment is described as follows, “Mr. Atkins, 34, is the lead game designer for Fable III (or 3), a video game series produced by Lionhead Studios in Guildford, England.”

The sad part is his wife is working on a Ph.D. in molecular medicine yet Joshua is getting all the press for creating make-believe worlds. Sorry, Amy. Gaming trump saving lives.

Now let the speculation begin. Was Molyneux’s Xbox 360 Milo Natal demonstration a part of Fable III? Will Fable III even come out on Xbox 360? Is this for real for a poorly conceived prank?

Or, to burst the jubilation balloon, maybe Fable III actually refers to expansion adventures for Fable II with new Demon Doors, characters and wives to be had. I tend to lean towards this theory but have a hard time dismissing someone typed “III” without fully comprehending its meaning.
