Assassin’s Creed 3 Wii U Functionality Details Emerge

Assassin's Creed 3 Wii U Functionality Details EmergeNintendo Power has revealed the first details regarding the Wii U version of Assassin’s Creed 3. If you take a moment to ponder the possibilities of the Wii U touch-screen controller, you’ll probably figure out the details before reading on.

The Wii U controller will serve as a direct link to the Animus, allowing uninterrupted access to the database and a wealth of information about the characters, settings, weapons, etc. In theory you could climb to a high safe spot and dig through the Animus without pausing the game.

As will likely be a feature on every action-oriented Wii U title, players will be able to switch between weapons and single/dual-wielding configurations seamlessly with a quick tap of the screen.

Eagle Vision will also benefit from the Wii U controller, using the accelerometer to allow players to control the camera by moving the controller while in “flight.” This is more of an alternate means to control an existing gameplay feature than a truly exclusive Wii U portion of the game.

Ubisoft has already dated the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC versions of Assassin’s Creed 3 for October 30. The Wii U version is not yet dated, but there’s still a chance it could be a launch title when the new Nintendo console arrives sometime during the fourth quarter of this year.

Be sure to check out the Assassin’s Creed 3 cover art, trailer and steelbook pre-order bonuses.
