Assassin’s Creed 3 Gameplay Trailer Tease Calls for Fans to Unite

Assassin's Creed 3 Gameplay Trailer Tease Calls for Fans to UniteUbisoft is planning on making a big splash at E3 with Assassin’s Creed 3, this fall’s latest entry in the franchise that will take the action to Colonial America and a decidedly colder climate for the first time. They’re gearing up by using social media to share the first Assassin’s Creed 3 gameplay trailer before the big show begins.

A social media marketing strategy has been deployed by Ubisoft that will make us have to earn the Assassin’s Creed 3 gameplay trailer. The way it works is Ubisoft is sending people to a website that is redirecting to a Facebook app. This tracking is tracking all posts, tweets, fan recruiting and Facebook shares that are attached to Assassin’s Creed 3. It will take 1,776,000 social media “events” (see what they did there? 1776?) to get the goods.

There hasn’t been much action on the Assassin’s Creed 3 app thus far in the early going. The little unlock meter hasn’t budged from its starting point.

All is not lost for new Assassin’s Creed 3 goodies today, though. Ubisoft has released a teaser video to coincide with the Assassin’s Creed 3 “Unite” gameplay trailer reveal campaign. In it we see Connor, of Native American and Indian heritage, hunt down a redcoat in the snow. The poor guy takes an arrow in the back of the leg and looks terrified knowing that his end is mere moments away.

Assassin’s Creed 3 is coming to Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii U and the PC later this year. Special Steelbook editions are available at no extra cost if you pre-order Assassin’s Creed 3 at Amazon.com.
