Activision has announced acquiring the rights to publish System 3’s Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli in North America. The game will appear on Playstation 3, Playstation 2, Nintendo Wii and DS later this summer. Oddly enough, Ferrari Challenge is steering clear of Xbox 360.
Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli is considered more a “sim” racer than “arcade” that includes over 15 international racing circuits.
Multiplayer modes available include Ferrari Challenge Seasons, Time Trial, Quick Race, and Endurance. In addition, up to 16 players can clash in a variety of challenges such circuits and hill climbs.
Downloadable content on Playstation 3 will play a big role in teh Ferrari Challenge experience with new cars, tracks and customization options made available on a monthly basis. New rosters will also be available for download at the start of each season.
