CBM has published the first Green Lantern movie set pic with something tangible to examine and get excited about.
The photo was snapped at night along the Mandeville Lakefront in Madisonville, LA. It reveals a large metallic object which presumably is the crashed – or soon to be crashed – spaceship of Abin Sur.
In The Green Lantern comics, Abin Sur crash lands on an Earth desert and passed his Green Lantern Corps ring and responsibilities to former test pilot Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) before dieing. The downed nature and silver design of this metallic spaceship matches the comic sequence other than a desert versus water landing.
Director Martin Campbell loves to use practical props versus CGI whenever possible and this looks to be a prime example of that mindset. More Green Lantern goodies should hit the net over the coming weeks as on-location shooting in Louisiana continues.
