Vin Diesel loves to update his social media profile on Facebook with new images or bits of information. His latest tease over the weekend will get Marvel fanboys over the moon excited.
On Sunday morning, Diesel changed his Facebook cover image with a picture of himself wearing a Marvel’s The Inhumans movie logo t-shirt. Behind the selfie is the question, “Are You Inhuman?”
Diesel famously teased he was potentially shacking up with Marvel on Facebook long before Marvel and James Gunn announced he had joined Guardians of the Galaxy to voice Groot. He’s also posted first-look images of several projects including from multiple Fast & Furious films.
Before you get too excited, keep in mind that The Inhumans movie is slated for November 2018, or almost four years from now. Though the Inhumans have just taken on a prominent role in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series, don’t expect Diesel to pop up and fight Agent May.
More than likely Diesel is sending a message to Marvel that he wants to play an Inhuman and is rallying support for the campaign by the number of likes and comments he gets. Over 323,000 people have liked the image since it was posted less than a day ago so clearly Diesel’s fans have spoken up and will continue to speak.
It helps that Diesel already has a relationship with Marvel from Guardians of the Galaxy and that only his voice was used for Groot. He could easily step into another role and not conflict with Groot on any level.
