Tom Cruise and ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ Earns $6 Million in Thursday Preview Showings

Moviegoers are more than ready to watch Tom Cruise partake in utterly insane stunts as Mission: Impossible – Fallout caught fire right out the gate at Thursday night preview showings.

The sixth Mission: Impossible film brought in $6 million during its opening night, a whopping 50 percent increase over the $4 million Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation wrangled up back in 2015.

Rogue Nation went on to earn $55.5 million its opening weekend to prove this franchise has more than enough legs to carry on. Fallout should exceed that amount, though by how much will affect where the film places in franchise history. Mission: Impossible II holds the franchise opening weekend record at $57.8 million.

Teen Titans Go! To the Movies brought in a hair north of $1 million for Warner Bros. during its own Thursday preview showings. It could track $20 million or higher through Sunday depending on how word of mouth impacts Saturday and Sunday showings.

Check back Sunday for the complete weekend box office results.
