Ezra Miller finally has some company in his DC Films universe solo outing as The Flash movie Iris West has been cast per a report by Variety.
Dope actress Kiersey Clemons has snagged the coveted role as the female lead in The Flash movie for Warner Bros. As Iris West she will play opposite Ezra Miller as Barry Allen’s likely love interest in the film.
As in The Flash television series, Iris West will be a tough young journalist and friend to Barry Allen. If the story follows the comics then their friendship will blossom into much more and become of the most powerful love stories in the DC Films universe.
Rumors of Clemons being the frontrunner for the Iris West role began when Dope director Rick Famuyima took over The Flash movie directorial duties from Seth Grahame-Smith. Despite Grahame-Smith’s departure from the project, DC Films and Famuyima will still utilize the original screenplay he wrote based on the original treatment by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who are gearing up to co-direct Lucasfilm’s Han Solo movie.
The Flash movie is scheduled for release on March 16th, 2018. Production will likely begin later this year or in early 2017.
