Today we caught wind of a new Star Wars Day, otherwise known as May the 4th, reveal and an awesome tease from the bigger reveal in the form of the next Vanity Fair cover.
Pictured on the cover of the upcoming Vanity Fair magazine are Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), and a new droid named BB-8. The four and the ball droid are sitting in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon, Han Solo’s ship that he and Chewbacca return to following a presumed extended absence in the Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens second trailer.
Vanity Fair is promising that tomorrow, May 4th, they will share “photographs, exclusive video and interviews” at VanityFair.com from the Star Wars Episode 7 shoot with renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz. This could be the first of several new Star Wars reveals that come our way in celebration of Star Wars day.
Here’s the Vanity Fair Star Wars: The Force Awakens cover, followed by some potentially spoiler territory speculation.
At the point in the film this image was snapped, Rey and Finn have crossed paths with Han and Chewbacca and are with them in the Falcon when escaping the planet of Jakku. By this time Finn has defected from the Empire and literally blasted his way out of a Tie Fighter bay on a Star Destroyer, been helped and/or saved by Rey on her home world after crashing a Tie Fighter he stole, and the pair along with BB-8 are beginning their intergalactic adventure.
Check back tomorrow for hopefully an onslaught of new Star Wars goodies.
