Second Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken Trailer Sprints into View

Universal Pictures has distributed a second trailer for director Angelina Jolie’s historical drama, Unbroken.

The World War II-set film is based on the true story of Louis Zamperini (Jack O’Connell), an Olympic runner serving for the U.S. Air Force. He and some of his crew survive plane crash in the South Pacific during the war, only to be captured by Japanese soldiers and forced to endure the horrors of a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp. Jolie’s version of the story is based on the book by Laura Hillenbrand, while Joel and Ethan Coen wrote the final version of the screenplay.

Unbroken marks the third film Jolie has directed behind the documentary A Place in Time and her feature-film debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey. She is currently filming the 1970’s period romantic drama By the Sea starring herself and hubby Brad Pitt, and is also slated to direct Africa, a film about Richard Leakey’s late 1980’s fight against ivory poachers, in 2015.

Zamperini died this past July at age 97 knowing his story of survival was headed to the big screen.
