One of the first pieces of concept art that Marvel released from Avengers: Age of Ultron featured Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) in massive Hulkbuster armor locked in a grapple hold with the Hulk himself (Mark Ruffalo) in an urban environment. Since that reveal, Marvel has continuously fed us new glimpses at this Hulk vs Hulkbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron battle through various stills and trailers.
There are Avengers: Age of Ultron spoilers of the mild variety ahead so proceed at your own discretion.
The latest sneak peek at this imminently epic confrontation is a prolonged clip that first premiered during Sunday night’s MTV Movie Awards. The clip offers confirmation of what we already heavily suspected, that Hulk’s rampage is the product of mind manipulation by the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). Hulk can’t seem to shake the outside influence, at least for the clip’s duration.
Another spoiler revealed in the clip is that a flying contraption above the battle will jettison new Hulkbuster armor parts down to Iron Man after Hulk rips said parts off. It doesn’t take long for the Hulkbuster armor to lose an appendage.
Two additional Avengers: Age of Ultron clips also came online today. The first features a quiet moment between Hulk and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) that has transformative results. The second is a dramatic monologue by Tony Stark as he reminds the team of what he’s done before and hears what needs to be done next.
Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is only a half month away from its May 1 release date.
