MGM has finally let loose the official Creed 2 trailer that successfully bridges the gap between the original Rocky series and today’s franchise focus on Adonis Creed.
For Adonis to succeed and become a legendary fighter like Rocky before him, he must face Rocky’s past and the Drago family. If you recall, it was Ivan Drago who killed Apollo Creed, Adonis’s son, in the ring during Rocky IV.
It turns out Ivan’s son has matured and trained into quite the fighter himself. Even though this new threat to Adonis’s greatness is never fully glimpsed in the trailer other than a fleeting action shot, his presence is certainly felt — especially on Adonis’s jaw.
Creed 2 is directed by Steven Caple Jr. and stars Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, Tessa Thompson, Wood Harris, Russell Hornsby, Florian “Big Nasty” Munteanu, Andre Ward, Phylicia Rashad and Dolph Lundgren.
Look for Creed 2 in theaters on November 11th.
