That’s right, Street Fighter II is coming back! The fighting game that defined a generation is being updated and re-released to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the original arcade release. Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers release date was announced today for the Nintendo Switch.
On May 26th 2017, owners of the new Nintendo Switch will be able to own this updated version of a classic.
Ultra Street Fighter II will include all of the previous versions selectable characters and the first additional characters in almost 20 years, Evil Ryu and Violent Ken!
Players can choose to play in “retro” mode or enjoy enhanced graphics and sound for a more modern look. Ultra Street Fighter II will allow use of the new Joy-Con motion controls for a “Way of the Hado” mode, a first person single player version where players will perform their own special moves. Start practicing that Hadouken!
Players will be able to play in a team mode for the first time, for a “Dynamic Battle”, where you will work with the second player to defeat a CPU controlled character. Of course the usual vs. mode locally and online will be also be available. Playing online will include Ranked and Casual modes.
