At long last Kaos will become immortalized in plastic as a fully character in this fall’s Skylanders Imaginators game from Toys for Bob. Better yet he’s the incentive for you to pre-order the game ahead of its October 16th, 2016 release date.
We first caught glimpse of a Kaos prototype figure back in 2012 during a trip to Toys for Bob headquarters. Now four years later, the final design for the Skylanders Imaginators Kaos figure is virtually identical to that first prototype that, at the time, was created and 3D-printed purely for fun (both pictured below).
How is Kaos a playable Skylander in Skylanders Imaginators? I’ve always felt it would take some kind of narrative gimmick to produce the inevitable playable Kaos figure. Here’s the official scoop on how Kaos’ own ingenuity — or lack thereof — created the doppleganger for us to enjoy:
With Kaos having discovered the power of Mind Magic to create Doomlanders, one of his first creations was none other than a clone of himself! Figuring that no one in the universe, including the Skylanders, could ever stand up to more than one Kaos, he unleashed his clone in his quest to take over Skylands. But to Kaos’ surprise, the clone – also being Kaos – wanted victory for himself! As a result, he fights against his creator, in turn helping the Skylanders in their endeavor to defeat the real Kaos!
All you have to do to secure your Kaos Skylanders figure is pre-order Skylanders Imaginators on the platform of your choice (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 or Wii U) before the game’s release in stores. The Kaos figure pre-order incentive will work with either the standard edition or the Crash Bandicoot PS4 Starter Pack.
