LEGO Dimensions isn’t due out until later this year so the appearance of instruction manuals for several unannounced sets at the official LEGO website is baffling to say the least. The LEGO Group has goofed and published instructions for LEGO toy sets early before, but in this case we’re talking nearly half a year before the game’s debut and an incredibly important new Toys to Life franchise to boot.
What’s notable about the leaked instruction manuals aren’t how to build a LEGO figure, which is what the instructions tell you. Though it is refreshing to see that apparently building all of the small vehicles, animals and other “extras” will apparently rely upon in-game instructions.
Scrolling down through the instructions reveals several new LEGO Dimensions Team and Level packs that until now were rumored and can be considered all but confirmed. They include Jurassic World and Scooby Doo Team Packs, as well as Level Packs for Portal 2, Dr. Who, and The Simpsons. Including the previously announced Back to the Future Level Pack and we’re up to four additional Level Packs that can be purchased.
New Fun Packs including a pair for The Simpsons bump up the total number of Fun Packs to be produced — at minimum — up to 18.
Here’s a direct link to the Portal 2 Level Pack that I suspect will be pulled down sometime on Monday.
I would expect all of these new LEGO Dimensions set to be formally unveiled either at or just before E3 next month.
